Unfit Sleeves Are The New Fit

Gone are the days when tailors asked us the desired sleeve length. Yes, you read that right. This season the ramps were swept away with the almost floor- touching-dramatic-sleeves.

Designers from Dries Van Noten to Dhruv Kapoor decided to go with this big gesture. Hence,we saw a variety from brassy bell sleeves to bashful Victorian numbers. Anthony Vaccarello’s debut show at YSL took inspiration from the ’80s and featured the season’s standout silhouette: puffed shoulders with leg-of-mutton sleeves. Whereas Christopher Kane, J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha took a shine to bell-shaped, puff and gathered lace sleeves. Loewe and Valentino shone a new light at the kimono as the kimono-meets-trumpet style. On the other hand Chloé, Burberry and Topshop Unique showcased the longer cuffed sleeve.

So, law might have long hands but we sure have long sleeves.
